Code Gargantus

Man, I was at this bbq this weekend and there happened to be a foosball table in the living room. So I mentioned casually that I really enjoy an envigorating game of foos every now and then... Of course a couple guys immediately sensed a threat to their manhood and said that they dominate on the table, blah blah... (leave your game on the table, sucka) Well, I won't brag or anything, let's just say that most people around here are spinning, hit-it-hard goobers who didn't know how to finesse a table. Hot damn, it was good to hear that chunk-THWACK of a sweet goalie shot.

We I tell this story to say that any cafe borne must have a table in our office or in the back or something. Must.

I keep seeing these pictures around Kona that are from all over the world: like children playing in India and Africa. It is always giving me pictures of the world that alows me to think internationally... It'd be kinda cool to have some sort of theme in an urban location to stimulate thoughts or pictures of the nations--let people see and think about things outside of San Diego.

Plus, it'd be a cool way to showcase different artists we know from all over. Like Felicia or Nate or anyone else.

coffee beans

These are raw unprocessed coffee beans from Kona, Hawaii. In keeping with the theme of organic and healthy menu items, we should use organic beans purchased through a free-trade organization. (You can see that there is still rain on my fingers from being outside!)

Well, I think I've figured out how to do this stuff now...the problem is that I just kinda bumbled into the right spots...it will be interesting to see if I can actually intentionally post this stuff...

Alright! So I don't have any pictures about coffee--yet--but this one is pretty cool, huh? I want to figure out how to just put it as my profile picture, but I can't figure it out yet.

So this doesn't have much (anything) to do with the present conversation...I just wanted to post a freaking picture.. By the way, this was a 30 lb. mahi mahi that snapped the leader. We caught 15 fish this morning.

Random

How does the brain work? What's up with the way it connects with the rest of the ol' body, mind, soul, etc? This morning I was sitting in my office finishing up some stuff and a man from Senegal walked by and for some reason I started talking to him in Spanish. What made my brain see a black man with an African drum in his hand and somehow think he would speak Spanish?

Maybe I need to go to bed.

Peace out.

Walk the Line

Here's a thought that's been rattling around in my head about a cafe:

A coffee shop has a great potential for success, both physically and spiritually. How do we maintain focused on the purpose of being real to people...without loosing our relevance or developing a "religious structure?" (It sounds like a no-brainer, I hate the idea of a structure like that, but projecting the potential, a structure or frame-work could develop.) Or is it possible to be consumed with poetry slams and open mics and art exibits and loose focus of salting the streets...?

Whenever I think stuff like this I almost want to delete it immediately, but I guess I'll throw this out there... I really don't think this is a big concern or possiblity, I'll just play devil's advocate with this...
