G Mail....?

Hey, have you seen anything about the new G Mail offered through Google? I just got on it the other day and it's pretty sweet! There's pretty much the same general features, just upgraded from average email (like you have something like 2600 MB of storage instead of 2 MB...)

It's also pretty cool because they created an IM program to go with it...so you have G Talk, but you can also connect like Skype through G Talk..just for free. It's pretty sweet so far. Lemme know if you're interested...

Revelation

So I don't know if you're familiar with this up-and-coming artist, but I was listening to a woman named Lauryn Hill. I don't know if you've heard her music or anything...pretty good. Anyway, it was the MTV unplugged cd (double disk) she just released--if you don't have it, I strongly recommend picking it up. It's really good. It's so good because it's Lauryn unplugged, but what makes it really good is that she's just hanging out with the audience. And so she talks and shares about her life throughout the disc and it's amazing to hear what she says. I feel like she puts into words a lot of things out of her life that I agree with, simple statements of faith and what Christianity means to her.

Basically I was listening to this with Kristin yesterday, and after she'd talk for a while I'd look at Kristin and say, "See? That's what I mean! That's what I've been trying to say! Yes!"

The point of this story is that I listen to her talk and that's how I want to represent. It's really strong, gentle; pure, convicted.

Mom's Wedding

Guess what I did this weekend? Here's a shot of me giving my mom away to her new husband.

It was kinda difficult, mostly it was good to see her happy (even with another "dad") One cool thing was that I hung out with my new step brother that wedding night with all my sisters too. He seems real solid; when he toasted the couple he also toasted his new siblings and then was excited to hang out with us. So that's nice.

Over all, I learned that mom's life is not my life to be jealous about anymore, but it is their lives I can rejoice with as they start a new life together. So it's ok that it's hard and aqward and all the other stuff, it's just more important that it's exciting and selfless and loving.

OK! I finished! (Mostly...) Burning wood is actually fairly tedious...it takes some slow, patient dedication I've learned.

I also learned it's a bit presumputous to choose a project like this to learn on. Also presumptious to start on wood like koa with tons of different grains and densities. Oh well, lesson learned, and at least I didn't jack it all up...
